Blandscape: Destiny Manifested utilizes a "Found Object" as frame. In creating a piece about the environment, I mixed my metaphors, so to speak. The old gun rack seemed perfect for a piece about Manifest Destiny. Guns and barbed wire conquered this land and now we’re paving every square mile of it.
In a toy store I found the Four Horsemen at the top: road-stripe yellow cowboys atop asphalt-gray horses.
However, I leave hope in the piece; near the bottom, a sprig of grass breaks through the pavement.
